Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey opened the 2016 SEC Media Days with a speech about the state of the conference.

His 30-minute opening comments hit on a wide range of topics. He opened with thoughts on the recent tragedies around the country and followed with comments on the impact of Pat Summitt. Sankey also thanked Verne Lundquist as he heads into his final season and even quoted Steve Spurrier.

Sankey hit on the achievements on and off the field in the past year and previewed things to come.
