While much has been made about Big 10 teams hosting satellite camps in the southeast, Alabama head coach Nick Saban quietly went into Michigan and pulled four-star defensive end Khalid Kareem.

The 6-4, 260-pound Kareem originally committed to Michigan State in February but backed off a few days later. Even though his father was "99 percent sure" his son would end up a Spartan, Kareem announced his decision to attend Alabama on Wednesday.

The commitment gives the Crimson Tide 16 total for the 2016 class, but, more incredibly, it represents the 11th state that Saban's staff has landed a player from. While Alabama has recruited nationally for years under Saban, Kareem would be the first signee from Michigan since Mark Ingram in 2009. The running back went on to become the school's first Heisman Trophy winner.

Kareem has received offers from 37 schools and has been recruited by Ivy League schools Princeton and Yale, which means there's no concern of academic issues.
